My parents received a wooden swing many many Christmas’ ago. They both loved and enjoyed spending evenings just swinging. After my Dad passed away, my Mom asked if we could move it to the back of their property and that’s where it sat for almost four years. When my Mom passed away, I asked if I could have their swing.
I was so excited when my husband and I brought it home. I power washed it, and stained it to match our deck. The first time my Dad power washed it , he actually engraved my Mom’s name, Mary on one leg of the swing stand and his name, Leon on the other with the power washer.
I purchased outdoor fabric from Jo-Ann’s and made the seat cushion and these pillows for the swing.
I love having their swing at my home.
Now when I sit in their swing, I think of them both and just wonder if only this swing could talk and tell me the stories my Mom and Dad shared on this very swing.
